6 members of a family in Indore die after a fire breaks out at their residence.

On Wednesday, police officials revealed that six members of a family in Madhya Pradesh’s Indore died after a fire broke out at their two-storey residence. They added that the blaze appeared to have originated from an electric car. Indore police commissioner Santosh Singh said that the fire spread quickly through the two-storey residence of Manoj Pugaliya, a polymer businessman, as 15 LPG cylinders and chemicals were found stored there. Singh said, “At least four cylinders blasted in the fire. The family may have been asleep when the fire engulfed the house. They could not escape because the house’s electric lock was shut down after the fire, leaving the doors locked. Prima facie, it appears the fire originated from an electric car being charged outside the house.”

At least six fire tenders were rushed to the scene.

Police further said that the exact cause of the fire will be determined after a forensic examination. They added that they were alerted about the fire around 4 am on Wednesday and that at least six fire tenders were rushed to the scene. The situation after two hours of firefighting was brought under control. During the rescue, six bodies of the family were recovered. The six members of the family are identified as Manoj Pugaliya, 65; Vijay Sethiya, 63; Suman, 60; Simran, 30; ChotuSethiya, 22; and a 12-year-old child.
