The filmmaker spoke about his upcoming horror-comedy and said he isn’t worried about its box-office prospects.
Prolific filmmaker Priyadarshan will be back in action as the director of his upcoming horror-comedy Hindi filmBhooth Bangla, which stars Akshay Kumar in the lead. The return of the much-loved director-actor pair of Priyadarshan-Akshay Kumar has already excited fans, and they can’t wait for the film to release in theatres on April 10. Amid the ongoing craze for Dhurandhar 2, which has broken almost every box-office record, Priyadarshan says his film is different from it.
Priyadarshan says he isn’t worried about the film’s box office prospects.
In an interview with news agency PTI, Priyadarshan said he is not too worried about the film’s box-office prospects, as the “area of exploitation” is larger for such movies than for action films because they appeal to a universal audience. He said, “I think our area of exploitation is bigger, and people like to see different things. That is our biggest plus point with Bhooth Bangla. Moreover, this is a pure entertainment, a fun film; it is not as intense as Border or Dhurandhar. People enjoy every kind of film. I believe as long as the film is holding the attention and interest of people, every film will work.”
Priyadarshan speaks about Bhooth Bangla’s USP.
The filmmaker added that his horror-comedy film has its own USP, a wider reach to families. He said, “Any parent can proudly bring their children and watch my film because I never use double meaning (stuff) or (show) vulgarity (in my films). I never embarrass the parents. This is something I have been maintaining from the day I started my career.” Bhooth Bangla also stars PareshRawal, Rajpal Yadav, Tabu, and WamiqaGabbi in prominent roles.
