Fans give mixed reactions to the Ramayana teaser

The Ramayana teaser was released today on Hanuman Jayanti, but fans have given mixed reactions, especially about its VFX.

Fans were delighted to see the teaser glimpse of the much-anticipated Nitesh Tiwari-directed and Ranbir Kapoor-acted Ramayana. After its first glimpse was shared last year in July, fans couldn’t wait for more updates on the film. Hence, today, April 2, on Hanuman Jayanti, makers shared the Ramayana teaser. However, fans have given mixed reactions to the same.

The ambitious cinematic adaptation of India’s epic has been creating headlines ever since it was announced. Today, on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti, the makers shared the first glimpse of Ram, played by Ranbir Kapoor, in Ramayana. Since then, netizens have been sharing their views on the teaser, especially about the VFX, which has been done by the film’s producer, Namit Malhotra’s own company, DNEG. The last scene in the teaser also featured Yash (the film’s co-producer as well), who plays Ravan. In a collab post, Namit, with the director Nitesh Tiwari and Yash, wrote on Instagram, “Rama is the greatest of all time because he lived a life where the choices he made were always in the benefit of the greater good, duty over desire, and sacrifice over self. His legacy continues to enhance and empower humanity over time and bring the belief in the goodness of the human spirit to resolve all conflicts and bring peace to the world. Namit Malhotra’s Ramayana Directed by Nitesh Tiwari In cinemas worldwide Ramayana Part 1 Diwali 2026.” This has also dispelled all rumours about the film’s release date.

Internet reacts to the teaser of Ramayana.

While a section of the audience loved the presentation and Yash’s presence, some felt the VFX needed improvement. A fan of Yash on Instagram wrote, “That Majesty Walk of Yash BOSS in the end”, while another commented, “This masterpiece, I am waiting Ravana’s entry.” As for the VFX, one fan reacted, “Is it only me who feels some frames are giving GAMING GRAPHICS?” However, fans of Ranbir were quick to defend too. One fan wrote, “The Underline: OUR TRUTH OUR HISTORY- these four words bring my tears out… Prayers, blessings and good wishes to the makers. Jai Shri Ram.”
