Quitting a job without a powerful backup seems too risky, but is it really, or is it lifestyle inflation?

The lifestyle is becoming an era of competition, where millions of people are trapped in a fake show-off lifestyle. A man from Delhi highlights the lifestyle inflammation we have created and how we are totally trapped in it. The man shares his experience of being trapped in corporate life, which inflames our lives.

A Delhi man shares how quitting without a backup made him reconsider his salary, expenses, and lifestyle inflation. It was resetting his life, which we never think of.

This has sparked a conversation on social media after he shared what 60 days of unemployment taught him about money, work, and lifestyle inflation. The man, identified as Karan, shared a video on Instagram in which he reflected on quitting his job without another offer in hand.

In a post where he talks about what the 60 days of unemployment taught him, Karan wrote that he resigned from his job in March and had no other offer in hand or a strong backup plan. What he says was a little scary, also expenses, EMI, when he will get another job, and whatnot! Well, he says salary is like a drug, not just for money, but our entire life revolves around that salary, where people like him get trapped very hard. To come out of this is not easy at all.

Where he explains further, if he is earning 1 lakh a month, then life starts happening. Rent. EMI. Weekend plans. Swiggy. Zomato. Subscriptions. The new iPhone costs ₹3,347 per month because “80K ek saaththodi de raha hu.” And slowly, without realising it, your expenses rise with your salary.”

Where he is clear, he is not encouraging to leave jobs, but with each increment, our lifestyle also increases, and this is endless. Because after 60 days of unemployment, I realised the trap isn’t corporate. The trap is lifestyle inflation. And most of us don’t even realise we’re in it.”
