Known as the Pink City, the capital of Rajasthan has long been celebrated for its heritage, vibrant culture, and culinary delights. This year, it has earned global acclaim for the happiness it brings to its residents and visitors alike.

The survey, conducted among 24,000 locals worldwide, measured more than nightlife and food. Respondents were asked about their sense of community, positivity, ease of finding love, and whether their city genuinely makes them happy. Jaipur stood out as India’s representative in the top 20, proving that its blend of tradition and modernity resonates deeply with people.

Jaipur’s appeal lies in its balance. The city offers bustling bazaars like Johari and Bapu, where colourful textiles and handcrafted juttis line the streets, alongside serene green parks and walkable neighbourhoods. Unlike many metropolitan hubs, Jaipur’s hustle feels manageable, never overwhelming. Visitors can spend mornings exploring palaces, afternoons shopping in vibrant markets, and evenings savouring local delicacies such as pyaaz kachoris and laal maas—or even international cuisine. This mix of slow-living charm and energetic culture makes the city uniquely fulfilling.

Landmarks like the Hawa Mahal continue to draw admiration, not just from tourists but also from locals who find joy in everyday experiences. The city’s heritage architecture, combined with its evolving food scene and welcoming atmosphere, creates a sense of belonging that contributes to its high happiness ranking.

Globally, Bath in the United Kingdom claimed the top spot, followed by Panama City, Guadalajara, Medellín, and Kraków. Jaipur’s sixth-place finish highlights India’s ability to offer more than just history, it offers a lifestyle that nurtures happiness.
