Vishal Chaturvedi’s devotional drama on Neem Karoli Baba set for international release on September 11.

Hanuman Ansh, a Hindi devotional film directed by Vishal Chaturvedi, is preparing for its overseas debut after a remarkable run in India. Produced on a modest budget of ₹1.8 crore, the film has exceeded expectations, earning over ₹62 crore net within its first month. Its success has now attracted the backing of Hombale Films, the powerhouse studio behind KGF, Kantara, and Salaar, which will distribute the film internationally starting September 11, 2026.

The film explores the life and teachings of Neem Karoli Baba, affectionately known as Maharajji, whose spiritual influence has transcended borders. While the title initially led audiences to believe the story might centre on Lord Hanuman, the narrative instead highlights Baba’s philosophy and his impact on diverse communities. This twist has resonated deeply with viewers, fuelling strong word-of-mouth and sustaining its theatrical run across India.

Neem Karoli Baba’s legacy has long attracted global attention. Tech visionary Steve Jobs visited Kainchi Dham in the 1970s, while Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg has spoken about traveling there on Jobs’ advice during a challenging phase in his career. Hollywood actor Julia Roberts has also credited Baba’s teachings with shaping her spiritual journey. In India, celebrities such as Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma have visited the ashram, further underscoring its cultural significance.

By weaving together devotion, philosophy, and human connection, Hanuman Ansh offers audiences a cinematic exploration of faith that extends beyond geographical boundaries. Its modest origins and subsequent rise to prominence illustrate how authentic storytelling can capture hearts regardless of scale.

Hombale Films’ decision to champion the project internationally is notable, as it represents a rare case of a major production house supporting a small-budget film after its release. This move signals confidence in the film’s universal appeal and its potential to connect with audiences worldwide.

With its upcoming global release, Hanuman Ansh is poised to share Neem Karoli Baba’s inspiring journey with viewers across continents, reinforcing the timeless relevance of his teachings. The film will officially premiere overseas on September 11, 2026, marking a new chapter in its remarkable journey from a modest Indian production to an international spiritual offering.
