On Saturday morning, esteemed chief priest Acharya Laxmikant Dixit, who led the consecration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, passed away at the age of 86. His family members reported that he had been unwell for the past few days. His last rites will be performed at Manikarnaka Ghat.

Acharya Laxmikant Dixit was crucial in consecrating Lord Ram’s idol at Ayodhya.

On January 22nd, which is marked as one of the most historic and significant days in India, Lord Ram’s “Pran Pratishta” was carried out at Ram Temple Ayodhya with PM Narendra Modi’s presence among other luminaries. It could also become more successful because of Acharya Laxmikant Dixit, who played a crucial role in the consecration of Lord Ram’s idol at Ayodhya.

Acharya Dixit was recognized as one of the finest scholars of Varanasi.

Acharya Laxmikant Dixit was renowned as one of Varanasi’s finest and senior scholars. He originally hailed from Solapur district in Maharashtra, but his family resided in Varanasi for several generations.

Yogi Adityanath, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister, expressed his grief.

Expressing his profound sorrow on the loss of a senior scholar like Acharya Laxmikant Dixit, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on X said, “The departure of Acharya Shri Laxmikant Dixit, a great scholar of Kashi and the chief priest of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Prana Pratishtha, is an irreparable loss to the spiritual and literary world, leaving a void that can never be filled.”
