Sharvari shared that for her personally, Vedaa was a “big success.”

On Independence Day, August 15, 2024, three major films clashed at the Indian box office: Stree 2, Khel Khel Mein, and Vedaa. While Stree 2 is unstoppable at the box office, crossing Rs. 500 crores globally, Khel Khel Mein received a not-so-good collection but good acclaim from critics, especially for Akshay Kumar. However, Vedaa, among the two, did not receive much reception from audiences and failed to achieve success at the box office.

Sharvari, who plays the lead along with John Abraham in the film Vedaa, recently spoke about the poor reception of the film’s box office collection. She said she isn’t concerned with the box office performance of her film. In an interview with India Today, she said, “Honestly, there are two different ways of looking at this. For me, I think in Vedaa, my heart was in the role and the performance of it. I really feel that the film had its heart in the right place. Now business decisions, whether things work or not is beyond me because this is only my third film in theatres. So, that is something I am still learning, and I am still a student of understanding how this translates and what the right thing in terms of business is.”

“This was a big success for me.”

Adding more, Sharvari said, “I think this role was very difficult, and challenging and very out of my comfort zone. So, when I get audience love for it, I’m satisfied because I took the little leap of faith in my performance. It could have gone a hundred other ways. For it to have gone in the right way for me is a big win. I haven’t done drama, which is also very difficult, and this was a big success for me.”

Since its release on August 15, Vedaa has minted only Rs. 19.25 crore at the box office.
