Cocktail 2: Reports say Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon may reunite on screen

Homi Adajania’s 2012 film Cocktail featured Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty. A sequel to the film may bring back Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon once again on screen after doing the 2024 film “Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya,” suggests a report.

A Pinkvilla report states that the sequel will be helmed by Homi Adajania again and may see Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon reunite on screen after their film Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya. The publication quoted sources stating that Dinesh Vijan will produce the sequel to the 2012 hit film. Like the first film, the sequel will also have a love triangle with the hunt on for another female lead. As per some reports, Rashmika Mandanna’s name has been attached to the project. The publication quoted a source as saying, “After the success of Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon are reuniting on Cocktail 2. The duo loved the script and are excited to venture into the world of this romantic comedy.”

Cocktail was released in 2012 and emerged as a blockbuster at the box office, skyrocketing Deepika Padukone’s career. The story was written by Imtiaz Ali. It was about three people: a playboy, a photographer, and a conservative girl. It was a rom-com with some of the biggest hit songs that year.

The casting of the sequel is underway and will go on floors in May 2025.
