Sunjay Kapur, businessman and ex-husband of Karisma Kapoor, died due to a heart attack.

Late on Thursday night, news reports suggested that Sunjay Kapur, businessman and ex-husband of Karisma Kapoor, died due to a heart attack. As per an India Today report, he suffered a heart attack while playing polo. In this hour of grief, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Malaika Arora and others were seen rushing to be by Karisma Kapoor and her kids’ side.

Following the news, Karisma’s family and friends rallied around her, with sister Kareena Kapoor Khan, brother-in-law Saif Ali Khan and friend Malaika Arora making a late-night visit to her home to offer support and solace. Kareena, along with Saif, was seen arriving at Karisma’s residence in Mumbai late Thursday night. Meanwhile, Malaika and sister Amrita Arora, accompanied by her husband Shakeel Ladak, were spotted outside Karisma’s home. Later, as Kareena and Saif departed from Karisma’s residence, the actress attempted to shield her face from the media. Karisma Kapoor has yet to issue a statement on the death of her ex-husband.

Sunjay, 53, was a businessman and ex-husband to actress Karisma Kapoor. As per reports, he died due to a heart attack while playing polo. The news was confirmed by Suhel Seth, who shared a condolence message on X, writing, “Deeply saddened at the passing of @sunjaykapur : he passed away earlier today in England: a terrible loss and deepest condolences to his family and to his colleagues @sonacomstar …Om Shanti.” Reports also suggest that he mistakenly swallowed a bee while playing polo, which led to a heart attack, and he passed away.

Sunjay Kapur and Karisma Kapoor got married in 2003 and were divorced in 2016. They have two children together, Samaira and Kiaan. Sunjay then married Priya Sachdev, with whom he shares a son.
