Harshit Tomar, owner of World Championship of Legends 2025 (WCL), recently grabbed eyeballs when, on live TV, after the WCL final, he told anchor Karishma Kotak that he would propose to her. The WCL final ended with AB de Villiers capping off a sensational tournament, smashing his 3rd century, making 120 off 60 balls to power South Africa Champions to an incredible nine-wicket win over Pakistan Champions in the final at Edgbaston on Sunday.

After the WCL ended, Harshit Tomar on live TV told anchor Karishma Kotak that he would propose to her, which became one of the most unexpected moments of the evening. As he was being interviewed by Kotak, right at the end of the segment, she asked him how he planned to celebrate the successful conclusion of the tournament. He immediately responded, “Probably once this is over, I’m going to propose to you.” The comment was made live on air and visibly stunned Kotak. Caught off-guard, she said, “Oh my god” before quickly regaining her composure and switching back to her role as presenter.
Netizens criticised Tomar’s bluntness on live TV.
A few social media users felt Tomar put Kotak in a difficult spot during a live telecast. However, unfazed by the criticism, Tomar shared a picture of himself with Kotak on social media and captioned it with a heart emoji. A WCL team member also commented, “touchwood” on the post.
