Labubu dolls, which have become a sensation worldwide, received a desi makeover with an Indian twist.

Labubu dolls have become a sensation across the world, so much so that celebrities have also carried them as fashion statements as part of their ensembles. However, recently an entrepreneur gave these dolls an Indian twist with a desi makeover, styling them in traditional Indian attire.

The internet, already swooning overLabubu dolls, is now obsessed with the desi twist these dolls got from an entrepreneur. The wide-eyed, toothy little doll has been a fashion statement in recent times. From BLACKPINK’s Lisa and Rose to Rihanna, DuaLipaand Kim Kardashian, several global icons have been spotted with Labubu. Bollywood celebs, including AnanyaPanday, UrvashiRautela, Sharvari, DishaPatani, and Shilpa Shetty, were also spotted with the doll. Taking it to another level, an entrepreneur named Orissa Lee Patnaik has served up an Indian twist by turning Labubu into a true desi icon. She shared on Instagram a whole bunch of Labubu dolls inspired by different Indian states, each with its cute name.

The Punjabi doll is called Labinder, dripping in phulkari embroidery. Labinder wears a hot pink kurta and deep blue salwar. She accessorises the look with jhumkas, maangtika and red choora bangles. The Jammu and Kashmir doll is called LabuJaan. She stuns in a maroon pheran and matching headscarf woven with intricate paisley patterns. She wears silver jewellery with layered necklaces, heavy earrings and a nose ring with a chain. The RajasthaniLabubu doll is called LabuChori. She wears a red ghagracholi dripping with mirror work and embroidery. She wears chunky oxidised silver jewellery, a borlamaangteeka, haathphool, and stacked bangles. The Kerala Labubu doll is called Lab Amma. She wears a cream and gold Kasavusaree with heavy gold borders. For the accessories, she wears gold necklaces, chunky bangles and ornate jhumkas with mathapatti, and a gold nose ring. The Labubu doll from West Bengal is called Laboudi, wearing the classic white and red Bengali saree. She wears the shankha-pola style bangles and a simple gold nose ring. The Odisha Labubu doll is named LabuBou, who is seen in a black and red Sambalpurisaree. She pairs it with big jhumkas, layered necklaces and stacked bangles.
