More on Jaspal Bhatti’s satirical take on airlines in India in an old video.
The viral video showed Jaspal Bhatti, a renowned Indian TV personality, actor, director and the “King of Satire” at his satirical best. The clip showed him as a clueless airline operator juggling overbooked flights, chaotic check-in counters, missing pilots, paperwork mix-ups, and repeated delay announcements blamed on “technical issues” that clearly stem from mismanagement. Meanwhile, passengers in the skit are seen running from one counter to another, pleading, arguing, and even offering bribes in a desperate attempt to secure a seat.
The LinkedIn post was shared by noted journalist Rajesh Kalra. He captioned the post, “He was so far ahead of his time. Simply brilliant! Jaspal Bhatti had predicted the IndiGo fiasco three decades ago and sent an SOS then.” The video shows an uncanny resemblance between Bhatti’s satire and IndiGo’s ongoing aviation crisis. Many users, who watched the viral clip, commented that Bhatti’s satire felt like it was written for 2025, not the 1990s.
