Reports: Farhan Akhtar to revive Jee Lee Zaraa, after Ranveer Singh’s exit from Don 3

According to rumours, Farhan will not shift his focus on making Jee Le Zaraa with Alia, Katrina, and Priyanka.

Don 3 was announced in 2023, with Ranveer Singh as the lead. However, after Dhurandhar’s massive success, the actor reportedly exited the film for not wanting to do another gangster-led film, as reports suggested. Jee Le Zaraa, on the other hand, was announced in 2021 with Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt, and Katrina Kaif. However, after much delays, the film is reportedly on track.

After Ranveer’s exit from Don 3 and speculations that Shah Rukh Khan wants to return to play Don only if Atlee directs it, the latest reports say that Farhan Akhtar is planning to shift the focus to Jee Le Zaraa. The leading ladies, Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra, and Katrina Kaif, are also apparently keen on doing the film. Back in December, Farhan had revealed it was traumatic trying to get the three leading ladies’ dates for the film. But it was all sorted, and the team was set to begin filming soon, after five long years. Well, a report shared by Pinkvilla now claims that casting for Don 3 is a lengthy, crucial process, so for now, Farhan has shifted focus and is reinitiating conversations around Jee Le Zaraa.

A source was quoted as saying, “Jee Le Zaraa has always been special for Farhan. With Don 3 taking time at the casting stage, he felt this was the right moment to revive discussions with the original team and push the film forward.” Reports say that the script is locked, and if the dates of all three actors align, the film would go on floors in the second half of 2026. The source further said, “Farhan has started discussions with all three actresses and is hopeful their timelines can align. Everyone is keen, it’s just about finding that common window.”
