For a lavish lifestyle, a Delhi man commits robbery against his father.

In a bid to earn easy money to enjoy a lavish lifestyle, a 21-year-old man from Delhi allegedly planned and executed an armed robbery against his father to steal ₹10 lakh. The accused, Tavleen alias Rehat, son of the victim, planned the entire robbery with his two associates, Mohit Kumar Tiwari and Pankaj, both aged 22. All three men have now been arrested, according to officials. The complainant was on a two-wheeler in East Delhi’s Laxmi Nagar area when he was ambushed by Tavleen and Mohit, riding a scooty and wearing masks, as news agency PTI reported. Mohit, who sat behind Tavleen on the scooty, fired two shots in the air to scare the victim. Pankaj, the third accused, was actively involved in planning and executing the armed robbery. Police have now launched a probe and scanned more than 200 CCTV footage from the area and nearby routes to track the suspects.

Two associates initially tried fleeing to Bihar.

Tavleen, the main accused, was caught trying to flee from Mukherjee Nagar, said an officer. He added that he has planned the robbery with his associates to get easy money to fund a luxurious lifestyle. The remaining two suspects, Mohit and Pankaj, initially fled to Bihar from AnandVihar on a private bus. However, police officials tracked the bus and intercepted it at the Lucknow Toll Plaza, arresting the two suspects. During the probe, police also learned that Mohit had obtained the pistol used in the robbery from Bihar’s Munger for ₹45,000. Police also recovered stolen cash and the scooter used in the crime.

Further efforts are underway to recover the weapon and track the source of the pistol.
