Actor Allu Arjun gets bail in the Pushpa 2 stampede case

The actor on Friday was granted bail in a case linked to the Sandhya Theatre stampede, in which a 35-year-old woman lost her life.

On Friday, Pushpa 2 actor Allu Arjun was granted bail in the Sandhya Theatre stampede case, in which a 35-year-old woman lost her life, while her son still fights his injuries in the hospital. The actor was granted bail by Hyderabad’s Nampally court.

The incident took place on December 4, when Allu Arjun attended the premiere of his latest film, Pushpa 2: The Rule, at Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad. A massive crowd gathered to catch a glimpse of the actor; however, chaos ensued when he waved to fans from the sunroof of his car. This led to the tragic death of a woman named Revathi and injuries to her child. After this, Allu Arjun was arrested and released on bail after furnishing a ₹50,000 bond.

A case was registered against the actor and others.

Following the death of the woman due to the stampede, a case was registered against Allu Arjun, his security team and the theatre management under different sections of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) at the Chikkadpally police station based on a complaint by the deceased woman’s family. On December 13, Allu Arjun was arrested by the city police in connection with the death of the woman. On the same day, he was granted a four-week interim bail by the Telangana High Court. He was released from prison in Hyderabad on December 14.
