Actor Kamaal R Khan (KRK) arrested for firing at Mumbai residential buildings

As per the Mumbai police, KRK fired rounds from his licensed gun that hit a building in Andheri.

Actor and self-proclaimed film critic Kamaal Rashid Khan (KRK) has grabbed the headlines. This time, the actor was seen firing rounds at a residential building in Andheri. The actor and self-styled critic was arrested in the matter on Saturday.

The Mumbai police arrested KRK in a gun-firing incident.

Actor and self-styled film critic Kamaal R Khan, popularly known as KRK, was arrested on Saturday in connection with a firing incident at a residential building in Andheri, as per the Mumbai police. According to the Oshiwara police, the firing took place on January 18 at Nalanda Society in Andheri (West), where writer-director Neeraj Kumar Mishra and model PrateekBaid reside. Two bullets were recovered, one on the second floor and another on the fourth floor of the building. Initially, the investigators struggled to trace the source of the shots, as CCTV footage from the area yielded no clues. However, later forensic analysis indicated that the bullets may have been fired from anearby bungalow owned by KRK, said the officials.

The Mumbai police detained Kamaal R Khan and later arrested him after he allegedly admitted to firing two rounds using his licensed firearm. He reportedly told police that he had been cleaning his weapon and fired to “test its functionality”. In his statement, Kamaal claimed he aimed at a mangrove patch in front of his home, assuming the area was safe. He further told investigators that strong winds may have deflected the bullets, causing them to strike the nearby residential building.

In the gun firing case involving KRK, the Mumbai police have registered a case against him under relevant sections of the BharatiyaNyayaSanhita (BNS) and the Arms Act. He is currently in custody while the investigation continues to determine whether the firing was accidental or deliberate.
