Airtel is all set to raise mobile tariffs on July 3 to sustain business profitability and invest in better technology.
Starting July 3, Airtel users will have to pay a little extra on their prepaid and postpaid plans. Bharti Airtel has maintained that the mobile Average Revenue per User (ARPU) needs to be upwards of Rs. 300 to enable a financially healthy business model for telcos in India.

Recently, Bharti Airtel announced an increase in mobile tariffs starting July 3. In a statement, the company mentioned that maintaining an Average Revenue per User (ARPU) above Rs. 300 is necessary to ensure a financially healthy business model for telcos in India.
Increased tariffs are necessary for better network technology.
The company also mentioned that increased mobile tariffs are essential for offering users better network technology and spectrum. However, Airtel has made sure to hike small prices in its prepaid and postpaid plans, less than 70 paise per day, especially for entry-level plans, to avoid burdening budget-conscious customers.
Reliance Jio also increases prices.
Reliance Jio also increased the mobile tariffs of its prepaid and postpaid plans. The price hike will take effect on July 3.
