Akshay Kumar, who is currently celebrating the success of his latest film, Housefull 5, spoke about Hollywood superheroes inspired by Indian mythology. In a new interview, he stated that Hollywood draws heavily from Indian culture and mythology. Akshay and Vishnu Manchu will soon be seen in the upcoming film Kannappa.

The actor feels that all superhero stories and their superpowers are inspired by Indian mythology. During his recent interview with Bollywood Hungama, he discussed how Hollywood draws inspiration from Indian mythology. When asked if all the stories present in the country were getting a stage or a medium to be shared, he shared his views on the same. He also shared that various stories are present in the country. He said, “There are so many stories here, and I personally believe that Hollywood takes a lot from our stories. Their superheroes and their superpowers are all inspired by our mythology. The kind of stories we have is unbelievable like I didn’t know the story behind Kannappa before the film.”
Vishnu Manchu feels Star Wars was inspired by “Mahabharat.”
Actor and producer Vishnu Manchu shared that he thinks that Star Wars has been inspired “by Mahabharat.” He even claimed that a script written by Satyajit Ray inspired ET. It seemed that he referenced the time back in 1982, upon the release of Steven Spielberg’s ET, when it was thought that he had plagiarized Satyajit Ray’s ‘The Alien.’

Akshay Kumar, along with Vishnu Manchu, will next be seen in Kannappa, a mythological drama film inspired by the tale of Bhakta Kannappa, who was a devout follower of Lord Shiva. Vishnu will be playing the titular role, while Mohanlal and Prabhas will take pivotal roles. Akshay Kumar will play Lord Shiva, and Kajal Aggarwal will play Goddess Parvati. The film was screened at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival. It will release this year in theatres on June 27, clashing with Brad Pitt’s F1, which will be released just two days prior.
