Fans and audiences have been eagerly waiting to see Alia Bhatt back on the big screen. They have been anticipating the release of Yash Raj Films’ Alpha, in which she stars along with Sharvari. There were speculations that the female-led actioner would be released directly on OTT. However, Alia has shut down rumours by sharing the first-look poster of Alpha and its release date in theatres.

Alia Bhatt’s last film Jigra was released in theatres in 2024. It has been two years since the fans haven’t seen her on the big screen. She recently took to her official Instagram handle and delighted fans with the first-look poster of Alpha, which she also announced the release date for. The film also stars Sharvari, Bobby Deol, and Anil Kapoor and is a part of the YRF Spy Universe. The film has been in the news due to rumours of a direct-to-digital release. However, with Alia’s new post, she has confirmed that Alpha will be released in theatres this year in the month of July.

Alpha was announced two years ago and marks the seventh instalment of the YRF spy universe, after the likes of EkTha Tiger (2012), War (2019) and Pathaan (2023). What makes it special is that it is the first female-led film in the universe. Alia unveiled the first look poster and the theatrical release date of Alpha, July 10, 2026. In the poster, we get a glimpse of Alia through the Greek symbol of alpha. There’s a deep cut on her shoulder, a bruise on her lip and another one on her eyebrow. But her fierce eyes, full of fire and fury, demand all your attention.
