Allu Arjun granted interim bail in fan death case

HC said the actor has a “right to life and liberty.”

In the early hours of Friday, actor Allu Arjun was arrested in a fan’s death case. However, he is now granted interim bail. The Telangana High Court granted him interim bail in the Pushpa 2 stampede case. The actor was seen coming out of the Chikkadpally police station following his arrest by the police on December 13, 2024, in Hyderabad.

Actor Allu Arjun, after getting arrested on Friday for the Pushpa 2 stampede case, which killed one woman, was granted interim bail by the Telangana High Court on Friday evening. The actor was granted bail in connection with the death of a fan at the film’s premiere. He was arrested from his home by Hyderabad police earlier in the day. The actor moved the High Court again following his arrest, asking for the FIR against him to be quashed. The HC indicated that it will grant interim bail to Allu Arjun. The Bar and Bench quoted the judge saying, “We will grant interim bail for a certain period and let them avail appropriate remedies meanwhile.”

The incident occurred on the night of December 4, when a large crowd of fans gathered at the Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad to glimpse Allu Arjun, who was present at the premiere of his latest film, Pushpa 2: The Rule. After a stampede-like situation arose, a woman died. Her son is being treated at a hospital, where he is recovering. Police said that a case was registered against the actor, his security team, and the theatre management at the Chikkadpally police station under sections 105 and 118(1) of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) based on the complaint by the deceased’s family.

In a big twist, the victim’s husband said he would withdraw the complaint and stated that the stampede was not Allu Arjun’s fault.
