The Delhi High Court has ruled that Ashneer Grover and his wife, Madhuri Jain Grover, must provide a security deposit of Rs 80 crore before traveling to the United States. Learn more about this landmark decision.
The Delhi High Court told Ashneer Grover and his wife, Madhuri Jain Grover, that they need to give Rs 80 crore as a security deposit before they can go to the United States.

The judge said the couple had to give something valuable as security. They also have to give their Emirates Card to the court to make sure they don’t go to the United Arab Emirates. They have a special visa that lets them stay there for 10 years, so the court wants to make sure they stay put.
Even though there are some serious accusations against them, the court said it’s okay for the couple to go to the US separately for their kids’ summer school.
The Economic Offences Wing is in charge of figuring out the rules for their trip. The couple has to give a lot of details about where they’re going, where they’re staying, and how to reach them to the court and the investigators.
Ashneer Grover and Madhuri Jain can’t sell any of their shares in BharatPe to other people.
Justice Subramonium Prasad also said that one of them has to stay in India as a guarantee while the other goes abroad.

Ashneer Grover is leaving for the US on May 26 and coming back on June 14. Madhuri Jain is going on June 15 and coming back on July 1.
The Economic Offences Wing didn’t want them to go because they were worried about them running away, having property in other countries, and not helping with the investigation into some suspicious money transactions.
The police have put out a Look Out Circular (LOC) for Grover and Jain, which means they can’t leave the country without permission from the court. They’re being accused of scamming Rs 81 crore from the company BharatPe.
What Was The Case

Last year in May, the EOW (Economic Offences Wing) took legal action against Mr. Grover, his wife Madhuri, and others for allegedly committing a fraud worth ₹81 crore. The complaint was filed by a fintech company called BharatPe. They accused the Grovers of making shady payments to fake consultants, overpaying vendors connected to them, faking invoices, and destroying evidence. Madhuri Grover, who worked at BharatPe, got fired in 2022 after an audit found irregularities. Mr. Grover stepped down as CEO in March 2022.
The roast controversy with Aashish Solanki
In the latest episode of Pretty Good Roast, Aashish Solanki had Ashneer Grover as a guest, and the show was live on YouTube. It seems like the Shark Tank India judge got really upset and didn’t want to be associated with the show anymore. Aashish tried to edit a video by removing Ashneer’s name and face and even cut out a part of his roast. But unfortunately, that edited video was also taken down shortly after. Now, the footage of that episode is circulating on YouTube and Twitter. The comedian started the show by saying, “TV pe log talent dikhahte aate hain; ye aukat dikhake aa gaya.” Samajh gaye kiska baat kar raha hai main? What is the name of your company, yaar?”
