The Mumbai police crime branch revealed that Akashdeep Gill, the crucial logistical coordinator and accused in the murder of NCP leader Baba Siddique, evaded the arrest by communicating through a mobile hotspot. The accused used the mobile hotspot of a laborer for communication while carrying out the plan to murder Baba Siddique.

In a joint operation carried out by the Mumbai and Punjab police, accused Akashdeep Gill, who was identified as a crucial logistical coordinator in the murder plot by the Bishnoi gang, was arrested on November 16 from Fazilka, Punjab.

Akashdeep Gill, who was handed over to Mumbai police, was identified as an associate of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. He was sent to police custody till November 21 with another accused, Sandeep Vohra, who allegedly financed the murder. During interrogation by the Mumbai crime branch, he revealed he used a hotspot of a laborer called Balwinder so that he could appear offline and avoid being tracked. Shaikh Faizan, representing Akashdeep, told ANI that a person named Pappu Singh was allegedly involved in passing messages between Gill and Vohra.
The crime branch is searching for his phone, for it might contain vital evidence in the Baba Siddique murder case and his connection with Anmol Bishnoi, brother of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi.
