BCCI announces INR 8.5 crores to support Indian athletes at the Paris Olympics.

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah announced a significant financial backing of INR 8.5 crore, approximately $1.03 million, to the Indian Olympic Association (IOA). The financial assistance supports the Indian contingent’s campaign at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, which will begin on July 26.

Jay Shah, speaking on the same, posted on X, “I am proud to announce that the @BCCI will be supporting our incredible athletes representing #India at the 2024 Paris Olympics. We are providing INR 8.5 Crores to the IOA for the campaign. To our entire contingent, we wish you the very best. Make India proud! Jai Hind!” BCCI’s financial backing will bolster Indian athletes’ efforts and support staff as they strive to achieve big wins on the global stage.

India is all set to send a contingent of 117 athletes to compete in various disciplines at the 2024 Paris Olympics. A support staff of 140 members will accompany the athletes, bringing the total contingent size to 257 members.
