Celebrities hail the spirit and strength of Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat, who was disqualified hours before the final at the Paris Olympics 2024.

Vinesh Phogat was disqualified from playing at the wrestling final of the Paris Olympics 2024 hours before the event because she was declared “overweight” for the women’s 50kg category, which was her category at the Olympics. After being found overweight, Vinesh Phogat was disqualified from her 50kg freestyle wrestling final at the Paris Olympics 2024. However, several Bollywood celebrities have come forward to show their support for the Indian wrestler, who was on the cusp of winning a medal for India and creating history at the Paris Olympics 2024. As soon as the announcement was made, celebrities like Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Farhan Akhtar, Sonakshi Sinha, Taapsee Pannu, and others took to their social media to show their support.

Alia Bhatt took to her Instagram stories and wrote, “Vinesh Phogat, you are an inspiration to the entire nation. Nothing can take away your resilience, nothing can take away your courage and nothing can take away the hardships you’ve been through to create history! Today you must be heartbroken to say the least and we are heartbroken with you. But woman, you are gold– you are iron, and you are steel! Nothing can take that away from you! A champion for the ages! (Indian flag and red heart emoticons).” Taapsee Pannu also wrote on her Instagram stories, “This is heartbreaking, but honestly, this woman has already made her mark beyond gold by now!” Sonakshi Sinha, too, took to Instagram stories and wrote, “Unbelievable! I cannot imagine how you are feeling now and don’t know what to say except you were, are, and will always be a champion.”

You will always be a champion and an inspiration to millions. Keep your chin up.” In a new Instagram post, Zoya Akhtar was also seen supporting the “Champion.”
