Boney Kapoor’s last statement about Jr NTR’s casting in War 2 has left the actor’s fans furious.

Producer Boney Kapoor recently made a statement during an interview on Jr NTR’s casting in YRF’s War 2. However, his comments do not seem to have sat well with the actor’s fans, including actor Siddharth, who has reacted to them.

N.T Rama Rao Jr., fondly called Jr NTR or Tarak by fans, is one of the biggest superstars of India. The actor, who predominantly stars in Telugu films, also has a huge fan base across the world. Janhvi Kapoor, daughter of Boney Kapoor, worked with Jr NTR in his latest Devara: Part 1. However, Boney Kapoor, in his latest interview, called Tarak a “new face,” which has irked the actor’s fans.

During a roundtable conversation hosted by Galatta Plus, Boney Kapoor remembered how the audience accepted Kamal Haasan after the release of “Ek Duuje Ke Liye” (1981) even though he was a “fresh face” for the Hindi-speaking regions. When actor and filmmaker Sidharth asked if such a collaboration would work today, Boney replied, “It can. Why has Adi Chopra (Aditya Chopra) taken Tarak (Jr NTR) for his film?” Producer Naga Vamsi corrected him, whereas Siddharth stated, “You are talking about one of the biggest superstars in the industry working with one of the biggest film producers in India.”

Netizens were miffed at Boney Kapoor for calling Jr NTR a “new face.” One social media user wrote, “Boney that calling taarak anna as a new face and sid and gave him a chance to act in Bollywood is so hilarious, dude Taarak is the biggest superstar in Telugu, and he is well known in Hindi mass centers then your Bollywood heroes. Sid anand didn’t give chance Taarak infact, Taarak accepted their request to act in a hindi film. Bollywood people live in their own delusional world still today without knowing reality on ground.” Another wrote, “Tarak is a new face itseems 😅. He is biggest star in south.” A third user commented, “Boney is in his own delulu, living 20th century glory of Bollywood and ignoring innocently about present 21st century Bollywood.”
