A shocking incident happened in Basti, Uttar Pradesh, where a bus rammed into a stationary truck, resulting in the death of two. The accident also led to the injuries of fifteen others. The double-decker bus hit a stationary truck on National Highway 28 in Basti district late last night, said police on Saturday.

Two people were killed, and fifteen others were injured in the accident that took place in Uttar Pradesh’s Basti district, where a bus hit a stationary truck on National Highway 28. According to the police, the incident occurred near the Vikramjot crossing in the Chhawani Police Station area around midnight. Police said that the speeding double-decker bus travelling from Gorakhpur to Lucknow rammed into the truck’s rear side, which was parked on the roadside at the Vikramjot crossing by its driver after it broke down.

The truck had developed a fault and was parked on the roadside.

The bus hit the truck with such force that the bus’s front portion was badly mangled, which led to the death of two, while several passengers received serious injuries, said the police. The police said that the accident’s impact was so intense that passengers were thrown about inside the bus, and some suffered multiple injuries.

Fourteen people, including children and elderly passengers from Rajasthan and Bihar, were reported injured in the crash. Police confirmed that the two people died on the spot. Authorities said that they are continuing with further legal proceedings in the case.
