This deep connection with India was rekindled in a different way when Gayle met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The meeting occurred during Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness’s official visit to India, where the former cricketer joined the delegation. Sharing a glimpse of the same on his Instagram account, Chris Gayle posted a video of his interaction with PM Modi, calling it an “honor” and captioning it, “Honor to have met with the Prime Minister of India @narendramodi Jamaica to India #OneLove.”

The 45-year-old cricket icon smiled during his brief interaction with PM Modi. Gayle offered the traditional ‘Namaste’ to the Prime Minister of India, which PM Modi quickly reciprocated, giving Gayle a pat in return.
Chris Gayle played in the IPL for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) from 2011 to 2017. He also played for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Punjab Kings, amassing 4965 runs in the IPL. This made him the eighth-highest run-scorer in the tournament’s history.
