A student of class 11 in Uttar Pradesh’s Bahraich stabbed a teacher as he confiscated a mobile phone. The injured teacher was taken to a local hospital, which referred him to the district medical college due to the severity of his injuries. The incident took place on Thursday at the Navayug Inter College at Mihinpurwa in Uttar Pradesh’s Bahraich district, as reported by PTI quoting police officials.

Student stabbed teacher for confiscating mobile phone.

The teacher, Rajendra Prasad of Navayug Inter College at Mihinpurwa in Uttar Pradesh’s Bahraich district, sustained serious injuries and is now undergoing treatment at the district medical college, said the officials. Prasad taught English at the college and confiscated the mobile phones of many students three days ago. However, one of the boys allegedly decided to take revenge. Assistant Superintendent of Police (City) Ramanand Prasad Kushwaha told PTI, “Three days ago, the teacher confiscated the mobile phones of several students since using cell phones is prohibited on the campus. Angered by the move, one of the boys attacked the teacher with a knife when he was taking attendance on Thursday.”

Case registered against the accused student.

Based on a complaint filed by the teacher’s family members, a case has been registered against the accused student. The knife used in the crime has also been recovered, said the officer. The police said the investigation is ongoing, and if more students are involved in the attack, action will also be taken against them.

The teacher breaks the silence on the attack.

Rajendra Prasad said that a few days ago, he confiscated the mobile phones of some students, who were returned to them. However, a few students got upset. According to him, three students were involved in the attack on him.
