Premier South African batsman David Miller opened up on the team’s heartbreaking loss in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 finals. The turning point of the match was his dismissal in the final. IANS quoted an Instagram post where David Miller expressed his deep disappointment and said, “I am gutted!! Really tough pill to swallow after what transpired 2 days ago. Words don’t explain how I am feeling. One thing I do know is how proud I am of this unit.”
David Miller remains hopeful.
David Miller further added, “This journey was an incredible one, with highs and lows throughout the entire month. We have endured pain, but I know this team has the resilience and will keep raising the bar.”
The South African men’s team reached their first-ever World Cup Final but lost to India in a heartbreaking defeat. Over the years, the Proteas have had a long history of near-misses in ICC Tournaments. They have reached the semi-finals but have never clinched the trophy in the finals. In the final, India made 176/7, but South Africa could make 169/8 and lost the final by 7 runs.
