There has been a lot of talk about the budgets of movies in Indian cinema and how stars and big celebrities’ fees and entourage costs are more than the actual earnings of film at the box office. Recently, even director-producer Karan Johar spoke on the same. Also, many others, like Farah Khan and Esha Deol, have discussed the high costs of entourage in the film industry. Director Rohit Shetty has also shared his opinion on this.

Singham Again, the director talks about high entourage costs.

Director Rohit Shetty recently opened up about the high entourage costs in the film industry and said that it is not just with actors and that the price has gone up in all areas. He said, “Not really. With me, it is totally different. When we talk about the cost, it is not just the actors. Everything from travelling to ticketing and hotels, the prices for everything have gone up. It is not just actors. The whole cost has gone up for a lot of things. Keeping that in mind, just because the cast is an ensemble, a lot of money is spent on the cast, it is not like that.”

Frequent use of CGI in films.

The director of Singham Again also spoke about the frequent use of CGI sequences in films in the last couple of years. Speaking on the same, he said, “I think now everyone is using VFX. It is not just us but all over the world. Most importantly, it is a bit easier and safer. When you are doing hand-to-hand combat, we are trying to be as real as possible. We are old-school guys. For me, hand-to-hand combat will always be real. Even when you see my next venture (Singham Again), hand-to-hand combat is real and yes, there is a lot of CG as well.”

Rohit Shetty’s Singham Again, starring Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ranveer Singh, and Deepika Padukone, is slated to release on November 1, 2024. Earlier, director Farah Khan spoke about an entourage cast of stars, where an actor is accompanied by a team of no less than nine people to a set. She called entourage costs a “waste of resources,” saying, “Ek actress 9 jan saath mein leke aate hain.”
