Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena and Uddhav Thackeray’s factions will hold Dussehra rallies in Mumbai to showcase the strength of Maharashtra assembly elections. On Friday, at Dadar’s Shivaji Park, preparations were underway for the Shiv Sena (UBT) Dussehra rally. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s Shiv Sena and Uddhav Thackeray-led Shiv Sena (UBT) will take to their respective venues in Mumbai for rallies ahead of assembly elections.

On Saturday, Eknath Shinde’s Shiva Sena and Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena (UBT) will both be holding Dussehra rallies in Mumbai to show their strength ahead of the Maharashtra assembly elections. Shinde’s Shiv Sena will gather at Azad Maidan in south Mumbai, while Thackeray’s Shiv Sena will rally at Shivaji Park in Dadar.

Though heavy rains left both the venues selected by the party’s two factions muddy, Sanjay Raut, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader, said the rally would go as planned. Shinde’s faction expects around 2 lakh attendees at Azad Maidan. They have booked 3,000 private buses to bring supporters to the venue. Both factions have also released teasers ahead of their respective rallies. Shinde’s teaser shows a tiger, representing the Sena, tied to the Congress with Shinde cutting the rope. The Shiv Sena (UBT) teaser focuses on protecting the pride of Maharashtra and criticizing ‘traitors,’ referring to rebel MLAs. It is said that Uddhav Thackeray is expected to target the BJP, accusing it of splitting the Shiv Sena.

The rallies will take place today, just weeks before state elections, with the current assembly’s term ending on November 26.
