Recently, four men were arrested in Uttar Pradesh for staging a fake kidnapping to film a viral social media video. In the dramatic video, two men on a bike stopped near a street food vendor in Muzaffarnagar’s Khatauli and kidnapped a man, eating chaat.

Four men have been arrested for staging a fake kidnapping in broad daylight. The four men arrested include the person being kidnapped, two men on the bike who fake kidnapped the guy, and the person who filmed the video. The arrests happened because the whole kidnapping was made up to shoot a sensational reel that they wanted to go viral on social media.

What was the video about?

In a bid to shoot a viral social media reel, two men on a bike stopped near a street food vendor in Muzaffarnagar’s Khatauli, where a man was seen eating chaat. They swiftly cover his face with a cloth, pretending to sedate him, push his unconscious body onto their bike, and try to flee from the scene. However, the locals around them blocked their path and stopped the bike. A few of them started to record the whole incident. They surrounded the kidnappers to prevent them from leaving the scene as the man driving the motorcycle argued with them.

Moments later, they point out to the camera and call their friend, who was shooting the video, to show them they were only faking a kidnap for making a social media reel. Later, the men edited the video, adding the Mirzapur TV series theme song in the background, and posted it online, where it went viral. However, the police stepped in to investigate the video and said, “Today, a video went viral on social media showing three boys filming a fake kidnapping in a public place in Khatauli town. The video caused panic among the locals, and now the police are working on identifying the boys involved in the video.” Reports suggest that they later arrested the four.

A user on social media said, “Now they will make reels in jail for a few days; editing and uploading will be done from there only.” Another user said, “All of them are spreading filth in the society in the name of reel. This will send a wrong message to the society! UP police should punish them properly.”
