The car blast near Delhi’s Red Fort has killed at least 13 people and injured many others.

India head coach GautamGambhir has reacted to the horrifying Hyundai i20 car blast that happened on Monday evening near Delhi’s Red Fort. He said he is praying for the strength of the families who lost dear and near ones.

GautamGambhir, who serves as the head coach for Team India, expressed his grief over the lives lost due to a Hyundai i20 car blast near Delhi’s Red Fort on Monday evening. He prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured and said that he felt saddened by the loss of lives during the unfortunate incident. According to the officials, at least 13 people lost their lives and at least 21 others were injured in the powerful explosion near the Red Fort metro station.

What did GautamGambhir say on the unfortunate incident?

Sharing his grief on X, Gambhir wrote, “Saddened by the loss of lives due to the blast in Delhi. Praying for strength to the families of the deceased and for the speedy recovery of the injured.” Former India opening batter Aakash Chopra also reacted to the unfortunate incident and urged Delhiites to stay safe. He wrote on X, “Stay safe, Delhi. Thoughts and prayer.” The explosion happened near Gate Number 1 of the Red Fort metro station, triggering a massive fire that engulfed several vehicles. According to the officials, six cars, two e-rickshaws and one autorickshaw were left gutted in the incident.

10 fire tenders were rushed to the incident site, and the blaze was brought under control by 7.29 pm. The incident occurred after a Hyundai i20 stopped at a red light near the metro station gate. The National Investigation Agency (NIA), which is responsible for probing terrorism-related and other crimes that affect national security, also reached the location within an hour of the incident. States like Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal have been put on high alert following the Delhi incident. PM Modi also paid his condolences and wished for the speedy recovery of the injured.
