Google has introduced a new feature in Gmail. The new feature is a “Polish” feature to help users transform rough notes into complete drafts. It has also updated Gmail’s “Help Me Write” feature. The Polish feature in Gmail will help users create refined drafts and shortcuts for easy access on mobile apps.

Google has now rolled out a new feature called “Polish” to the “Help Me Write” feature on Gmail. The new features include a new Polish option, a Help Me Write option, and Refine My Draft shortcuts on the Gmail mobile apps for Android and iOS.

Announcing the new update via a Workspace blog post, Google said, “Building upon our popular Help Me Write feature in Gmail and the recent launch of the summarization feature in the Gmail mobile app, we’re excited to introduce two new Gemini in Gmail updates to help you draft emails even faster.”

The new Polish option for the Help Me Write feature will turn a rough draft email into a more refined, polished version with just one click. It will be available on both web and mobile versions of Gmail. The new shortcuts Help Me Write and Refine My Draft will be featured on the body of the email when an email draft is empty. On clicking, it will open the full Help me write experience. Refine my draft shortcut, which will be below the email content when 12+ words are in an email draft. This will indicate options to polish, formalize, elaborate, shorten, or write a new draft.

The new shortcuts will be available on Android and iOS users, and they will be ON by default for admins and end users. Google also said that there is no admin control, and neither can end users disable it.
