Actor and Shiv Sena leader Govinda, after getting shot by himself by a loaded revolver beneath his left knee, was admitted at Mumbai’s Criti Care hospital. However, the actor has now been discharged from the hospital. He was accompanied by his wife, Sunita, and daughter Tina Ahuja.

Govinda was discharged from the Mumbai hospital todayafter a traumatic accidental shooting incident on October 1, when he accidently shot himself in his leg with his own loaded revolver. In a candid conversation after his discharge, the actor revealed details about the incident and emphasized it should not be connected to anyone else.

Recalling the harrowing incident, Govinda said, “At first, I couldn’t believe what had happened to me. The bullet struck deep, and it was only then that the reality of the situation sank in.” The incident happened at 4.45 am when he was preparing to leave for a performance in Kolkata. He recalled, “I was just about to head out for the show when it happened. In a moment of misfortune, I stumbled, and suddenly, there was a pool of blood.” He added, “I made some videos to document what happened and sought help from Dr. Aggarwal, who was with me during my transfer to the hospital.” He expressed his desire to keep the incident personal without dragging anyone else into it.
Why did Govinda keep a loaded revolver?
During the press interaction, Govinda was asked why he kept a loaded revolver. He responded, “When you wake up and begin your day, you tend to feel optimistic, believing that everything is going to be fine. I’ve always been a cheerful person, and at that moment, I thought there was nothing wrong with me.” He admitted to being somewhat naïve about the potential dangers surrounding a loaded revolver, adding, “I never imagined that such a freak accident could occur,” emphasizing the need for greater caution in similar situations.
Govinda concluded, “I hope what happened to me serves as a significant lesson for everyone. We must learn from the mistakes of others to prevent such accidents from recurring.”
