Harbhajan Singh recently got embroiled in a heated conversation with an X user over the “Khalistan Murdabad” provocation.

Harbhajan Singh, the legendary Indian spinner, is known for his bold statements and not holding it back inside or outside the field. The retired Indian player doesn’t limit himself even on social media and knows how to give it back to trolls. A similar incident happened recently when a fan bashed the Hindi commentary panel on Star Sports for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which Bhajji Paaji is a part of.

Harbhajan Singh filed an FIR against the online troll.

On Tuesday, Harbhajan Singh got embroiled in a heated argument on X, username Randomsena, over the “Khalistan Murdabad” provocation. It began when an X user reacted to Singh’s response to a fan who bashed the Hindi commentary panel on Star Sports for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. This led to a heated conversation exchange between Singh and the X user, which eventually led to the user provoking Singh to say, “Khalistan Murdabad.” The ugly exchange continued further and ended with Singh confirming that an FIR was filed against the user for his abusive language.

More about the incident.

Harbhajan Singh criticised an Indian fan on social media after the fan called Hindi cricket commentary the “cringiest thing” on Earth. Singh scolded him and accused him of being ashamed of his own language. The incident happened when Singh posted a photo of broadcasters Nikhil Naz and Vikrant Gupta posing outside a Dubai hotel with the caption “Jeet ka Jashn (Celebration of victory)” after India’s massive win over Pakistan. The problem occurred when a user commented on Vikrant Gupta’s photo describing Hindi commentary on Star Sports as one of the most cringe-worthy content on the planet.

Fans react to the incident.

A fan wrote, “Hindi commentary can rank among the cringiest things on this beautiful blue planet.” Harbhajan Singh criticised the fan for not appreciating his own language and commented, “Wah Angrej ki aulaad. Shame on you, Apni bhasha bolne aur sun ke fakr mehsoos hona chahiye (Wow, descendant of the British. Shame on you. You should feel proud to speak and hear your own language).” However, many defended the fan. One claimed, “Just for clarification purposes, he is talking about Hindi “commentary”, not Hindi “language.” Another user wrote, “Aap commentary dhang ki karoge toh koi kuch nahi bolega, but aap gyaan dedo pehle. (If you do goof commentary, nobody will say anything, but you choose to preach).”
