The capital city, Delhi, has been facing some trying times as summer doesn’t seem to end anytime soon there. The intense heat wave has claimed many lives so far, and shockingly, it continues to do so even in the second week of June.

Delhi has been swept by an intense heat wave that has claimed many lives, and adding to it is another shocking number of deaths. In the last 48 hours, the city has seen 20 more fatalities due to heat-related issues. These include six in central government hospitals and the others in Delhi government-run hospitals.
The toll could be higher.
It is also said that the death toll every day due to the heat wave in the city could be much higher as several Delhi government hospitals have reported alarming figures of people being “brought dead.”
Deaths due to extreme heatwave conditions.
27 bodies of unknown/destitute persons alone were received at the Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital (DDUH) in the last 48 hours caused by extreme heatwave conditions. Dr. Ajay Chauhan of RML Hospital shared that the hospital witnessed four fatalities within the past two days.
TOI had earlier reported seven deaths, and now the toll has gone to 11. Dr. Chauhan also disclosed that the hospital admitted six new patients on Wednesday. Doctors have confirmed that an increasing number of patients have been dying as they suffer from extremely high temperatures upon their arrival.
The severity of the ongoing heat wave in Delhi is alarming.
