ICC initiates action against Suryakumar Yadav on PCB’s complaint

Reports suggest that, based on a complaint by the PCB, the ICC has initiated action against Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav.

According to fresh reports, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has initiated action againstIndian skipper Suryakumar Yadav following a complaint filed by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) against the cricketer.

PCB has complained against Suryakumar Yadav with the ICC.

In response to a complaint received from the PCB, the ICC has initiated an action against Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav for his comments following the group stage match between India and Pakistan in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025. After India defeated Pakistan in a 7-wicket win, Suryakumar Yadav dedicated the victory to the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack while also expressing solidarity with the armed forces. During the post-match presentation, he said, “Perfect occasion, taking the time out, we stand by the families of the victims of the Pahalgam terror attack. We express our solidarity… Want to dedicate the win to all our armed forces who showed a lot of bravery.” Later in the post-match conference, he said, “Our government and BCCI, we were aligned today… We came here to just play the game.”

PCB’s complaint accepted by the ICC.

Soon after the game ended, the PCB lodged a complaint against Yadav, which the ICC has now accepted. The governing body of the game has initiated action against Yadav for his comments. The ICC has confirmed that it is reviewing a complaint filed by the PCB, and it could lead to a formal hearing. DainikJagran reported that match referee Richie Richardson sent an email to the Indian team management in which he acknowledged receiving two official reports from the PCB regarding Yadav’s comments.

In his email, Richardson stated that upon reviewing all the statements and evidence submitted by the PCB, SKY’s remarks were deemed to have potentially harmed the image of the sport.
