A shocking incident in Pune made to the headlines recently involving a man named Madhav Teketi, an IIT Bengaluru graduate who killed his 3-year-old son. The Pune Police revealed that the engineer worked at a multinational company and lived in Chandannagar. He confessed to killing his 3-year-old son as he was suspicious of his wife’s character.

The Pune Police revealed that Madhav Teketi confessed to killing his 3-year-old son, and he was suspicious of his wife’s character. The police also added that there were frequent arguments between them. He worked in a multinational company and lived in Chandannagar with his wife, Swaroopa Teketi, also an engineer, and their son Himmat. The horrifying incident came to light when Swaroopa filed a complaint at the Chandannagar Police Station stating that her son had gone missing around 12.30 pm while he was with Madhav. A case was registered under section 137(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) by the police, and a probe was launched by the Pune Police.

CCTV footage shows that Madhav had left their residential complex with Himmat. However, he returned alone. Further investigation into the case by the police reveals that Madhav purchased a knife and a blade from a local shop. Senior police inspector at Chandannagar police station, Sima Dhakane, said that when the police questioned the accused initially, he was under the influence of alcohol. Madhav also misled the police during questioning, according to the police. Dhakane said, “When police questioned the accused, he was under the influence of alcohol and was misleading the police.”

However, Madhav Teketi, after technical analysis and sustained interrogation of the accused, admitted to the crime. After his confession, the police booked him under Sections 103(1) and 238 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
