IndiGo’s Jabalpur-Hyderabad flight diverted to Nagpur amid bomb threat

The passengers were disembarked on Nagpur, and mandatory security checks took place.

On Sunday, IndiGo flight 6E 7308 from Jabalpur to Hyderabad had to be diverted to Nagpur amid a bomb threat. After getting diverted to Nagpur, the flight had its passengers disembarked, which was followed by mandatory security checks, as per a statement from the airline.

It is said that a bomb threat was received on IndiGo flight 6E 7308 from Jabalpur to Hyderabad. Hence, the airline had to divert the flight to Nagpur; however, all passengers were safe. Emergency action was taken as soon as the airline received a bomb threat, and a search operation was also conducted.

Passengers were deplaned, and IndiGo apologized for the inconvenience.

A statement by IndiGo said that all passengers were deplaned, and a search operation was launched after landing in Nagpur. The statement read, “Flight 6E 7308 operating from Jabalpur to Hyderabad was diverted to Nagpur due to a bomb threat. All passengers were disembarked upon landing, and mandatory security checks were promptly initiated. Passengers were provided with assistance and refreshments…,”

Hoax bomb threats are on the rise.

In recent times, hoax bomb threats have increased at airports and hospitals. On June 18, 41 airports, including those in Chennai, Jaipur, and Varanasi, received bomb threats over emails. This resulted in anti-sabotage checks lasting hours, but all the threats were only found to be hoaxes.
