The former India all-rounder mocked Pakistan’s SahibzadaFarhan’s ton in the T20 World Cup.

SahibzadaFarhan scored a 100 not out off 58 balls against Namibia in their T20 World Cup Group A game on Wednesday. The Pakistan opener etched his name in the record books with the score. His innings included 11 fours and 4 sixes, helping Pakistan to 199 for 3 after opting to bat first. Pakistan then bowled out Namibia for 97 runs to book a Super Eight spot for themselves. However, former India all-rounder IrfanPathan has mocked the Pakistan player’s approach as he neared his century.

IrfanPathan took a jibe at SahibzadaFarhan.

SahibzadaFarhan was unbeaten on 99 in the last over when he played a fuller delivery of Gerhard Erasmus to long-on for a single and raced to the three-figure mark. On air, Irfan said, “He definitely has scored a century, but taking a single? Unbelievable. Unbelievable. You would be happy that you have scored a century and that Pakistan have reached 199.”

More on IrfanPathan’s mock on SahibzadaFarhan’s approach in the match.

On the final ball of the over, Erasmus bowled inside the tramline on the offside. SahibzadaFarhan failed to reach the ball and finally let it go. It was counted as a dot ball, and Pakistan’s innings ended there. Irfan added, “But in the last over, you play a defensive shot, then you leave the last ball. Kamaalhai.” Sahibzada failed to maximise the final over with his bat. However, Shadab Khan smashed two sixes to Erasmus, helping Pakistan make a total of 16 runs. Pathan speaking on Shadab’s sixes stated, “This is what you have to do. You have to attack the off-spinner. It wasn’t there on the first three (two) balls from Farhan or Shadab.”

Pakistan on Wednesday defeated Namibia, winning by 102 runs. The team has qualified for the Super Eight. They becamethe second team from Group A, after India, to reach the next round. Meanwhile, Namibia, the Netherlands, and the USA were the teams eliminated in the first round.
