A shocking case has made the headlines of a double suicide in Karnataka. A woman, just days after her wedding, filed a police complaint, accusing her husband and in-laws of harassment. The woman reportedly has fled with her lover, and her husband and the matchmaker died by suicide.

Earlier this week, a man died, reportedly by suicide, after his wife ran away with her lover just a couple months into the marriage. Following this, the man who arranged the wedding, the wife’s brother-in-law, also died by suicide. The incident took place in Karnataka’s Davangere district on Monday. The 30-year-old man died by suicide and left a note behind, following which, a 36-year-old who had arranged the wedding is also said to have died by suicide after hearing the news of the 30-year-old’s death.
The wife was arrested by the police for abetment of suicide.
According to a report, the couple married just three months ago. Police said the woman left home on the pretext of going to the temple but ended up eloping with her lover. After hearing that her husband had taken the extreme step and left behind a note naming those allegedly responsible for his decision. The police said that following his suicide, the man who fixed their wedding also died by suicide. On Wednesday, the police arrested the woman on charges of abetment of suicide. According to the police, her husband alleged in his suicide note that his wife and her lover were threatening him. He also allegedly named two of his wife’s relatives as responsible for his decision.
While the 30-year-old hailed from Karanataka’sGummanuru, the other deceased was from Anekonda. A case has been registered in Davangere, and a probe is underway.
