FDCI announces fresh batch of GenNext designers for Lakme Fashion Week.

On Wednesday, the Lakme Fashion Week, in association with the Fashion Design Council of India, announced a fresh batch of GenNext designers for the upcoming gala presented by INIFD, which is scheduled to take place from October 9 to October 13 in New Delhi. The winners of the 38th edition of GenNext were revealed, considered one of the most prestigious talent discovery programs.

Four designers emerge as winners.

FDCI announced the winners who will serve as the new batch of fashion designers, winning the coveted 38th edition of GenNext, a top talent discovery program, ahead of the next gala. The four designers who have emerged as winners are – Padma Saldon, Saurabh Maurya, Ananya Arora, and Sakshi Vijay Punyani.

Leh Ladakh talent Padma Saldon, a graduate from NIFT at the gala, will present the label 2112 Saldon. Saurabh Maurya, who hails from Noida and is a design graduate from NIFT, will showcase his brand MARGN. Amritsar’s Ananya Arora, also a NIFT graduate, will introduce her brand Ananya – The Label. Sakshi Vijay Punyani, a knitwear design graduate from Nagpur, will showcase her designs under the VJ label.

Shortlisted designers showcased their designs to a distinguished jury.

The shortlisted designers thrilled the distinguished jury with their designs and collections, which included fashion designer Shahab Durazi, Sabina Chopra, NIFD Global presents GenNext mentor; Jaspreet Chandok, group vice president, Reliance Brands Ltd, Ainee Nizami Ahmedi, editor-in-chief, Elle India; and Harman Dhillon, executive director, Hindustan Unilever, and beauty and well-being general manager, Unilever South Asia.

NIFD Global presents the GenNext program, which provides mentorship and a stepping stone into the fashion world to the nation’s most creative minds and empowers newer talent across India.
