The children recreated the bridal outfits from donated clothes and turned heads with their video. This has now impressed the designer himself and the fashion community. A video shows a group of underprivileged children from a Lucknow slum, recreating a bridal campaign inspired by the iconic Sabyasachi Mukherjee designs. The video is shared by a Lucknow-based NGO Innovation For Change and showcases children’s excellence in creating and crafting bridal ensembles reminiscent of Sabyasachi’s signature aesthetic. The video has instantly garnered attention, including the attention of Sabyasachi Mukherjee and has also left the internet in awe of their talent and innovation. Sabyasachi took to Instagram and posted the video of the models flaunting his “Heritage Bridal” collection with the caption, “Red is not seasonal, it’s iconic.” Gaining inspiration from this collection and theme, a group of underprivileged children recreated these looks using outfits they crafted from donated clothes.
The video was filmed by girls aged 12-17 years.
The NGO Innovation For Change revealed that the entire video was filmed by girls aged between 12-17 years to develop their camera skills with every red dress in the video designed and modelled by them. The NGO posted, “These children come from extremely poor and struggling families. Using their creativity, they carefully select and repurpose clothes donated by locals and neighbors to create designer-inspired outfits. After seeing a recent @sabyasachi video, they felt inspired to try something similar.”

Sabyasachi, who was impressed by the children’s creativity and effort, reposted the video on his social media and shared a heart emoji, declaring them a “winner.” The video has now gone viral. Even Aditi Rao Hydari dropped a red heart emoji in appreciation. One user wrote, “This is called art…” Another wrote, “The best example of being inclusive.” One more wrote, “This is the best thing I’ve seen in a long time.”
