About Amrit Snan at the Maha Kumbh Mela 2025.

Amrit Snan happens a day after the first major “snan,” which occurred on Monday in the Sangam area on Paush Poornima. The first Amrit Snan holds significance because the “Akharas” will participate. Mahant Ravindra Puri, president of Akhil Bharatiya Akhara Parishad (ABAP), told news agency PTI that the first Amrit Snan of this Maha Kumbh Mela was scheduled to begin at 5:30 am on Tuesday.

Mahant Ravindra Puri said that the common terms like “shahi snan” and “peshwai” associated with the Kumbh have been changed to “Amrit Snan” and “Chhavni Pravesh.” Ashutosh Varshney of the Prayagraj-based Ram Naam Bank (an NGO) said that Amrit Snan would be the first such snan after the grand ‘Pran Pratishtha’ of Lord Ram Lalla in Ayodhya. The Maha Kumbh 2025 is the world’s largest religious gathering, which officially began in Prayagraj, marking the beginning of the grand 45-day spiritual event. It has been organised over a sprawling 10,000-acre area.
