The government of Maharashtra has initiated an inquiry into Ranveer Allahbadia’s controversial remarks on Samay Raina’s YouTube show, India’s Got Latent.
The Maharashtra government has initiated an inquiry into Ranveer Allahbadia’s controversial remarks on India’s Got Latent show. Troubles for Ranveer seem to continue because the inquiry was ordered on Friday, directing the cultural department to investigate, news agency ANI reported.
An inquiry was ordered in Ranveer Allahbadia’s case of controversial remarks.
The cultural department led by minister Ashish Shelar has been tasked with conducting the probe. Crass remarks were passed by Ranveer Allahbadia, podcaster and founder of the YouTube channel Beer Biceps, about parents and sex on comedian Samay Raina’s now-deleted YouTube show India’s Got Latent. This sparked massive outrage, leading to complaints from several people. After complaints were filed regarding the vulgarity on the YouTube show, in which Ranveer was present as a judge in one of the episodes and made some objectionable remarks, the Maharashtra government made the move of an inquiry. The complaint was also filed against other similar shows that have been running without proper permission. The department convened a meeting chaired by Ashish Shelar, who ordered a detailed inquiry after the meeting.
Police found Ranveer Allahbadia’s Mumbai flat locked.
Teams of Mumbai and Assam police visited Ranveer’s residence on Friday but found that his Mumbai flat was locked, said an official. News agency PTI quoted an official as saying, “The Mumbai police, who have initiated an inquiry in connection with Ranveer Allahbadia’s controversial remarks, on Friday went to his flat in Versova area but found it locked.”
Meanwhile, the Mumbai Police has asked Ranveer Allahbadia to appear before them on Saturday as part of a probe into his controversial remarks as he didn’t turn up during the day.
