Some of the biggest airports worldwide reported flight cancellations due to technical glitches. In the US, 911 services were impacted. Several UK doctors reported on X about the issues in the country’s nodal National Health Services.
What did Microsoft say on the outage?
In a post on X’s Windows 365 service status page, Microsoft said, “We’re aware of an issue with Windows 365 Cloud PCs caused by a recent update to CrowdStrike Falcon Sensor software. This is being communicated under WP821561 in the admin center. To fix this, users may restore their Windows 365 Cloud PC to a known good state prior to the release of the update (July 19, 2024) as documented here: Enterprise – https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-365/enterprise/restore-overview Business.” They added, “CrowdStrike is communicating to its customers directly through their support portal, and they also have a blog post providing more information.”
