FIR filed against Mithun Chakraborty for allegedly giving a provocative speech.
A complaint was registered against actor-politician Mithun Chakraborty on Wednesday after he had delivered a speech last month during a BJP event in Salt Lake’s EZCC, claiming that he gave a provocative speech. This prompted an FIR to be filed at Bidhannagar South police station. Mithun Chakraborty, who earlier this year was honored with India’s highest film accolade, the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, had declared last month that the “masnad” (throne) of West Bengal would belong to the BJP after the 2026 Assembly elections, vowing to do whatever it takes to achieve this goal. Chakraborty said, “In 2026, the masnad will be ours, and we will do everything to achieve this goal,” while speaking at the programme at the Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre (EZCC).
Mithun Chakraborty apparently gave back to TMC MLA Humayun Kabir’s communal remarks aimed at the BJP.
Apparently referencing to TMC MLA Humayun Kabir’s communal remarks aimed at BJP workers during the Lok Sabha elections, the actor-politician said that no one should attempt to intimidate the BJP voters into abstaining from voting in the next Assembly elections.
