On Friday, the wedding procession arrived in a village under the Kothi Thana police station. Rituals and traditional ceremonies were held throughout the night without any disturbance, according to a TOI report. On Saturday morning, however, the atmosphere changed when members of the bride’s family learned of the groom’s gender identity. Later, several guests and some members of the groom’s side reportedly left the venue. The bride’s relatives stopped the groom and his mother and sought clarification. Villagers gathered at the scene, sparking heated exchanges between the two sides. The situation remained tense for several hours. Reportedly, just before the bidaai ceremony, a group of transgender people came for blessings and recognised the groom. Soon after, the ceremony was called off.

According to reports, the bride’s family asked the groom for verification, but he refused. Later, the groom’s family urged the bride’s family to maintain their dignity and stay silent, offering them ₹23,000. Police from the local station arrived in the village after being informed of the dispute. Officers worked to calm both families and prevent the matter from escalating further. Officials confirmed that neither party had filed a formal complaint. As a result, no legal action has been taken in the matter.
